DELIVERABLES
What you receive from Solutn.
- Design and calculation basis for the agreed scope.
- Calculation reports and technical assessments.
- Layouts, 3D models and drawings as agreed.
- An overview of interfaces and issues requiring clarification.
- Documentation for the customer’s further review and project execution.
How we get started.
Send us the material you already have. We review the basis and agree on scope, documentation and schedule.
View the relevant information and files
- Existing drawings, data sheets and calculation reports.
- Operating conditions, loads and proposed modifications.
- Material data and relevant inspection results.
- Project requirements and the applicable design basis.
- Required scope, schedule and contact with the other engineering disciplines.
The assessment depends on the available data and the nature of the task. We clarify the scope and technical interfaces before committing to a deliverable.
TYPICAL TASKS
A practical basis for your next modification.
Existing facilities require knowledge of the original design and an understanding of new operating conditions. Solutn helps define the technical task and provides calculations, design and documentation for the agreed part of the project.
Brownfield modifications
Mechanical design and calculations for modifications to existing piping, equipment and supporting structures.
Greenfield design
Design and detailed engineering of mechanical installations and piping, with clearly defined interfaces to other disciplines.
Pressure equipment
Design calculations and verification of relevant piping and vessel components against the agreed basis.
Fitness-for-Service to API/ASME
Assessment of existing pressure equipment to API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, based on the specific damage, inspection data and intended service.
Fatigue and service life
Analysis of cyclic loads, fatigue and other factors relevant to an agreed service-life assessment.
Decommissioning and lifting
Calculation and design basis for the agreed mechanical scope of a decommissioning or handling project.
3D SCANNING
The existing facility as a digital starting point.
For modifications to existing installations, 3D scanning can provide a basis for layout and mechanical integration. We connect the survey of visible plant components with the agreed piping or mechanical design task.
We agree on the relevant area, level of detail and deliverables so the scan meets its purpose.

TECHNICAL ILLUSTRATIONS
Geometry and results in engineering.

EN 13445 pressure calculation for a tank
The image shows a pressure calculation for a large tank to EN 13445. It illustrates tank design calculations; Fitness-for-Service assesses existing equipment to API 579-1/ASME FFS-1.

ASME VIII calculation for a piping tee
The illustration shows a calculation for a piping tee to ASME VIII. The applicable division, method, loads and acceptance criteria are defined in the calculation basis.
QUESTIONS
Before we get started.
Can you work within an existing project team?
Yes. We can provide a separate deliverable or ongoing engineering support, with agreed roles and interfaces.
Can you assess equipment with known damage?
We can establish whether a technical assessment is feasible based on the damage type, inspection data and intended service.
Do you also supply drawings?
Drawings and 3D models can accompany the calculations when agreed as part of the scope.
CONTACT
What needs to be calculated or designed?
Send a short description, a drawing or a photo. Tell us what you want to modify or assess and when you need the deliverable. We will clarify the technical basis and next steps.
You are also welcome to call if the scope is still taking shape.
